The company brings together Finnish innovation and Danish commercial expertise to scale bio-based cleaning for professional environments.
From invention to scale
Ownwell began in Finland, where Mikko Haapsaari, a cleaning technician and innovator, developed the OwnBio® method after questioning the industry’s heavy reliance on chemicals.
His work focused on using beneficial microorganisms to support cleaning over time — not just at the moment of application.
In 2024, John Bisgaard joined Ownwell as CEO and partner. With a background in international facility management and professional cleaning, John leads Ownwell’s commercial development and export markets.
Ownwell® today
Ownwell operates across Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, and the Netherlands, supporting professional customers with bio-based cleaning solutions designed for scale.
In 2026, Hanna Ojamo joined Ownwell as Head of Sales Finland, strengthening the link between customers, daily cleaning practice, and Ownwell’s bio-based solutions.
The team continues to grow with a clear mission:
to challenge the old definition of clean and replace it with a science-based, people-safe, and future-ready approach.
